    Apply for membership with IREVA / USAV

    • USAV season starts on 9/1 each year and expires 10/31 of the following year (14 months)
    • Send required fee, payable to IREVA, to Susanna Ashline as indicated in the website instructions
    • Membership is not approved and complete until you receive a confirmation email
    Complete Background Check
    • Good for 2 seasons
    • If you re-registered before 10/31, check your Background Check status in WEBPOINT to make sure it is still valid
    • Background check is not initiated until membership fee is recorded
    Send a note to the Referee Assignor (assignor@ireva.org) to request access to ARBITER, and then fill out your Profile and fill in availability/block out unavailability.

    • Inform Referee Director and Assignor of any specific limitations or other requests affecting assignment at tournaments (e.g., travel less than xx miles or hours, Sunday limitations, JO only, Club/Team conflicts, no overnight, etc)
    Attend IREVA first referee clinic annually
    • Contact Mike McNeil or Howard Veater
    • Check IREVA website news and calendar; planned for December at both Vestal (west) and Albany (east)
    The 2011-2012 IREVA R1 clinic will be held at the following locations:

    West: Broome Community College, December 11, 2011 Room TBD and Gym, 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM

    East: Schalmont High School, December 21, 2011 Classroom TBD and Gym, 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM

    Optional: Review and complete on-line USAV clinic with IREVA specific information at http://www.volleyballreftraining.com/powerpoints.php

    Take and correct on-line Referee test (Referee Exam A at http://www.volleyballreftraining.net/usavtest/. The IREVA password is IEK662)

    Be available/willing to work at least one of our major tournaments (GNE, Regionals)

    Remain in Good Standing throughout the season

    New referees:

    New official clinics and ratings will be held at the meetings mentioned above, or as otherwise arranged. They will be assigned from the ARBITER site so be sure to make one or more of the dates available.     Rating Upgrades

    The IREVA application deadline for a ratings upgrade from Provisional to Regional is February 1st. For upgrades to Junior National or National, contact Howard or Mike for requirements.

    USAV has set up a new, central website for referees. As always, the goal is to improve the quality and uniformity of officiating. The website will also have significant benefits in efficiency by eliminating redundant efforts to create and maintain training resources among the USAV Officials Commission and the Regions.
